GCR SCI goat are a step above the rest. Our herd is an all grass fed herd, raised the way nature intended. Our herd is officially registered with the founding registry, IDGR, since the goats came off the island. Our herd is an all DNA tested herd. We also only use official USDA approved ID on our animals. Making these goats a true part of the conservation effort to save this breed from extinction.
San Clemente Island (SCI) goats are a rare and endangered breed of goats. These goats are one of the rarest breeds of goats. These goats are smaller goat that are fine boned and deer-like. Both sexes have horns. Most SCI goat are mostly tan/red with black makings, there are white ones as well but are rarer. This breed’s purpose is conservation purposes, some meat, and others focus more on the diary side of these goats. The bucks with this breed are not stinky like the Nigerian Dwarfs. These goats make a great dual purpose goat for you small homestead.
We currently have high percent Tepper and New Hampshire bloodlines. In addition, we are looking for high percent bloodline does of Tepper, plimoth, Nellie Gail, New Hanpshire, and a few others. If you have any of these bloodlines doe for sale please contact us. Must be registered with IDGR and have USDA approved ID on the animals to be considered. No guess work when purchasing from us.
